R\u00f8dk\u00e6rg\u00e5rd B&B is just the place to stay when you are on a bicycle vacation or cycling holiday around the island of Funen. It is also a great point of departure for bike rides in the area. If you arrive by car with your bicycle and spend just one night here, you can leave your car parked with us for up to a week while riding into the sunset to discover other corners of Funen.<\/p>\n
We are only about 10 minutes away from Kerteminde by bike. Kerteminde is an old market town with cozy little streets and places that you actually enjoy most from a bike. There is a fine bike lane all the way from Lille Viby to Kerteminde with views to the fields and the inlet.<\/p>\n
Kerteminde offers fantastic sandy beaches, interesting museums, good restaurants and eateries as well as very nice and cozy shops. There are furthermore several ice-cream parlours that are really worth visiting.<\/p>\n
Besides taking a ride to Kerteminde with everything that the town has to offer, we are a good point of departure for day trips on bike. You could for instance cycle around Kerteminde inlet, which is a 20 km ride more or less. Or you could cycle out to the beautiful Hindsholm. We also definitely recommend a trip to Fyns Hoved. Fyns Hoved has a very special nature with clear traces from the ice age. We will gladly assist you with route suggestions. Until 1966 there was a train line from Kerteminde to Martofte on the northern side of Hindsholm. Today, a great part of the original railway is an excellent and safe cycleway. The last bit of the way from Martofte to Fyns Hoved proper is a main road.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Castle Route on Fyn<\/a> is a nice cycle tour around Funen, Langeland and \u00c6r\u00f8, where many of Funen’s many manors are passed. It concerns no less than 123 castles and manors. Roedkaergaard B&B is located about 3 km from the route.<\/p>\n Apart from this route, there are many other smaller and picturesque roads that take you through fine nature and authentic village environments. Among them are Store Viby with its old half-timbered houses standing almost shoulder by shoulder and the church whose tower is also half-timbered.<\/p>\n From many of the roads you can see the Great Belt. Hindsholm has several specialised farm shops, artisans, artists and galleries.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n On the website naviki.org<\/a> you can plan your desired cycle route. The bikes are safe there. If need be, you can also find a small tool box, a puncture repair kit and a bicycle pump in the barn.<\/span><\/p>\n When the chips are down, there is both a regular bicycle mechanic and one that makes house calls in Kerteminde. Besides, when you are a guest at our place, you can borrow one of our bicycles and get around anyway, should your own bike need repair.<\/p>\n Staying in a room during your cycling holiday<\/p>\n You can travel lighter, if you stay at a Bed&Breakfast when you are on a bicycle vacation. The rooms<\/a> include breakfast, bed linen and towels. In our dining room, you can enjoy your take-away lunch and dinner. We have a microwave oven and an electrical kettle that our guests can use free of charge.<\/p>\n If you want to prepare food yourself, our houses, South<\/a> or North<\/a>, or apartments<\/a> would be your perfect choice, since they have a private kitchen. You can also either prepare your own breakfast there or add the breakfast we serve to your stay. It can be enjoyed in the dining room.
